A wet palette consists of an airtight container containing a moistened sponge covered with a sheet of moisture-permeable paper.
The container consists of a lid and a base with a rubber seal that ensures water tightness and retains internal moisture for a long time. The sponge and the water needed to moisten it are placed in the base.
The dampening sponge is one of the most important parts of a wet palette. Its primary function is to retain water and provide a constant source of moisture to the palette paper, preventing acrylic paints from drying out too quickly.
The moisture-retaining paper allows moisture to reach the surface of the sponge and is strong enough to prevent it from disintegrating when it comes into contact with paint.
